一般情况下,血清的灭活是指解冻后的血清,通过水浴加热的方式,将其加热至56℃维持30分钟,或者40℃维持20分钟,以达到灭活补体的目的。

灭活方法:

先将血清融化和混匀,热灭活时请将其置于 56 ℃ 水浴 30 分钟。为尽量减少热灭活对血清品质的影响,一次灭活的血清体积不宜过大。最好准备同样的容器装相等体积的水(与血清相同温度),灭活时将装有血清和水的容器同时放入 56 ℃ 水浴, 在装水的容器中放置温度计,加热过程中不时轻轻旋转混匀血清,当温度计显示达到 56 ℃ 左右,开始计时。56 ℃ 水浴后,建议马上转移到冰上降温。

注意事项:

·水面没过血清液面且管底不接触水浴锅底面;

·温度计需时不时晃动,且不接触管壁;

·初始温度应相同;

·两容器材质相同;

·液体体积相同;

·装水容器口用封口膜或保鲜膜封住,只露出温度计即可。

HyClone characterized fetal bovine serum (FBS) is sourced in the USA. Complete traceability is provided back to the original source, as certified by the International Serum Industry Association (ISIA).

Additional traceability testing of premium HyClone fetal bovine serum is performed by our collaborator, Oritain.

HyClone FBS serum is low in antibodies and high in growth factors to support robust growth and division of cells, including embryonic stem cells.

HyClone characterized fetal bovine serum (FBS) is produced using true pool technology, which minimizes bottle-to-bottle variability. This FBS product is filtered through three sequential 100 nm (0.1 µm) pore size-rated filters. Each lot of FBS is subjected to virus panel testing according to 9 CFR 113.53. HyClone characterized FBS is assayed for many components, including gamma globulin, glucose, and IgG.


Additional treatments are available: HyClone FBS heat inactivated (HI) and HyClone FBS irradiated (IR). Additional testing, including EMEA-conforming testing, is also available.


Fetal bovine serum used in cell culture

Fetal bovine serum (FBS) is frequently added to cell culture media to promote cell growth and division. Because of its high content of growth factors and other nutrients that meet the metabolic needs of eukaryotic cells, FBS serum is frequently used to grow mammalian cells including embryonic stem cells.

Premium bovine serum samples from different regions have been analyzed, and Oritain has created a database of the unique 'Origin Fingerprint' exclusive to each country of origin.
