Desthiobiotin PEG Maleimide:

Desthiobiotin PEG Maleimide is one of Nanocs’ reactive desthiobiotin PEG crosslinkers that can react with thiol (-SH) groups. Maleimide reacts with thiol/sulfhydryl group at neutral pH quckily and efficiently. Reaction between maleimide and thiol allows conjugation of desthiobiotin tag to proteins, antibodies, peptides or nucleic acids with high efficiency. Desthiobiotin is a modified version of biotin. Compared to biotin, desthiobiotin binds to streptavidin, avidin and other biotin-binding proteins with lower affinity and it can be eluted from binding complex under much milder conditions (i.e., by competitive displacement with regular, free biotin). As such, desthiobiotin reagent is a useful alternative to Biotin for avidin-biotin techniques in which nondenaturing elution of the labeled proteins is desired. PEG linker between desthiobiotin and maleimide offers better water solubility, less steric hindrance and enhanced stability.

Desthiobiotin PEG Maleimide:

Desthiobiotin PEG Maleimide is one of Nanocs’ reactive desthiobiotin PEG crosslinkers that can react with thiol (-SH) groups. Maleimide reacts with thiol/sulfhydryl group at neutral pH quckily and efficiently. Reaction between maleimide and thiol allows conjugation of desthiobiotin tag to proteins, antibodies, peptides or nucleic acids with high efficiency. Desthiobiotin is a modified version of biotin. Compared to biotin, desthiobiotin binds to streptavidin, avidin and other biotin-binding proteins with lower affinity and it can be eluted from binding complex under much milder conditions (i.e., by competitive displacement with regular, free biotin). As such, desthiobiotin reagent is a useful alternative to Biotin for avidin-biotin techniques in which nondenaturing elution of the labeled proteins is desired. PEG linker between desthiobiotin and maleimide offers better water solubility, less steric hindrance and enhanced stability.
